 Foreign language influences on Old English

 

The origin of human language will perhaps remain for obscure. By contrasting the origin of individual language has been the subject of very precise study over the past centuries. History of language  was begun by English present and Future in twelfth-century. At the time was developing such as the influences at work on language, starting to undersand the importance of language, etc. In sixth-entry continous found Indo-Europianlanguage probably. Indo-Europian langages are language family of several hundred related languages and dialects.until several hundreds years language family increase then found some of family language. In  Continued by foreign languages influenceon Old English. There are three tribes influnces in Old English particularly in language. In the course of the first 700 years of its existencein England. It was brought into contact with at least three other languages, language  of the Celts, the Romans, and the Scandinavians.

            The first one is Celtis tribe. Celtic influences on Old English vocabulary numerous instances of words that Anglo-Saxons heard in the speech of the native population and adopted. For it is apparent Celts were by no means exterminated except in certain areas, and in most England large number of them were gradually assimilated into the new culture. The evidence from the Celts  influences are place-names in region lends and other loandwodrs.   

The second  is Romans. Romans were called Latin tribes. Latin was not the language a conquered people. It was language of a highly regarded civilization, one from which the Anglo-Saxons wanted to learn it, in latin, there were three part. Latin influence of the zero period. Latin words to find teir way into the English language their adoption to the early contavt between Romans and Germanic tribe on the continent. Latin influence of the Christianin of Britain. The greatest influence of Latin upon Old English was occasioned by conversion of Britain to Roman Christianity. As the result of latin’s renewed literary activity was a new series of Latin importations took place.

The last is Scandinavian’s influence. The scandinavian influence was one of the most interesting of the foreign influences that has contributed to the English language. N a way the retention of the hard pronunciation in k and g in vocabulary. The Scandinavian can be stated that scandinavian’s influence more indicate on the vocabulary and grammar in English language.

Overall can be concluded that thereare three tribes contribute and influence on English language on Old English period. Celts tribe contribute in place-name and number of words adopted. The most influece from Latins tribe. In latin’s period, latin was a highly civilization language and reach golden time. Latins has extremly three period of tribe. The Scandinavians also contribute on the vocabularies and grammar on English language.
